Facebook is twice as popular as Sharepoint for collaboration – and six times more popular than Salesforce Chatter.

Avanade’s data shows Facebook is a collaboration platform twice as popular as SharePoint — 74% to 39%. It’s also four times more popular than IBM Open Connections (17%) and six times more popular than Salesforce’s Chatter (12%).

Interesting information. Perhaps it means that in the future some of these rigid corporate application suites of software might be challenged by the concept of bring your own software as users continue to use applications in the office which they first investigated at home.
