Here’s one of the first cloud computing failures that I’ve noticed in the press. Apparently cloud provider Nirvanix, founded in 2007 after an online storage company called StreamLoad split into consumer and business units. is notifying customers that they’ll shut their doors come September 30, 2013.
According to Steve Ampleford, CEO of UK-based Nirvanix partner Aorta Cloud, Nirvanix told employees yesterday that it had “gone to the wall”. It instructed them to warn customers that the service will be switched off on September 30th.
