With the uncertainty of the future direction by Sage for its MAS 500 product, plus the heavy emphasis on X3, Sage resellers should be evaluating their position and decide whether they are willing to move from MAS 500 to X3, or decide to look at a viable replacement for MAS 500, such as AccountMate,” says Smith. “Having implemented MAS 500 for more than 12 years, I have been impressed with how AccountMate and Tamlin’s Manufacturing Conductor work together to provide the kind of solution manufacturers need in today’s environment.
Accountmate today issued a press release heralding two new hires at one of their implementation partners – Tamlin Software. The two recruits – Don Sathe – whose LinkedIn shows a 3 year stint at now defunct Sage partner MIS Group and Tony Smith , who I was unable to find a background for on LinkedIn, will apparently be charged with recruiting Sage partners who are selling Sage 500 ERP.
Accountmate and Tamlin Software imply that Sage may be de-emphasizing their Sage 500 ERP software line in favor of Sage ERP X3 as well as Accountmate being a better overall fit for manufacturers due to features and the availability of source code.
There’s been a near steady stream of marketing pitches from Accountmate targeting Sage partners. This latest is the first I’ve seen to target the Sage 500 ERP partners with the implication that Sage ERP X3 could take over their product space at Sage.
To make this all work – you’ll have to lake a leap of faith and assume (as the quote from Tamlin Software’s site indicates) that Accountmate is in fact ” a viable replacement “.
