Two top Sage partners are headed to the National Beer Wholesalers Association trade show this weekend October 14-17, 2012 to showcase Altec’s Doc-Link document imaging solution.
This is a great example of two companies – Altec and Blytheco – collaborating around an industry niche.
While the market for generic accounting systems has grown smaller – there is still a vast opportunity for firms with deep knowledge of specific industries to create value by implementing the standard financial software plus components like Doc-Link that save companies money right from the start.

Sage Summit 2013 heads back to Washington DC Gaylord National hotel and convention center for 2013. The date moves almost one month earlier to July 21-26, 2013.
In a post penned by Suzanne Spear ( @Suzspear) Director of Event Marketing for Sage, it is revealed that there will be at least 1,100 first timers attending the Sage Summit 2012 conference when it begins August 12, 2012 in Nashville, TN.
By my rough computation the conference has likely already surpassed last years’ attendance and crossed the 4,000 attendee mark with less than a week to go before the opening keynotes.
This year first timers will be wearing special badges to allow veteran conference goers to spot them and introduce themselves.
If you can wrangle an invite – there’s a private first timer and early responder meet and greet hosted by Sage .
Other events of note for first timers and veterans alike – Sage City (networking and collaboration – FAQ), Sage Summit Tweet Ups (meet your fellow Twitter users) and the country music event night with Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Diamond Rio, and Jake Owen.
And if you’re an early riser – meet us at the entrance to the hotel each morning as we walk and compare notes about the Sage Summit conference.
See you in Nashville!

Looks like most of the Sage channel just received a personal invitation from Netsuite VP Channel Sales Craig West inviting them to meet for a briefing during Sage’s upcoming partner and customer conference August 14-17, 2012 in Nashville, TN.
Note: Just to be clear – though hopefully it’s very obvious – Netsuite is NOT meeting potential partners at a Sage Summit booth or official conference session. The mailing refers to a “session” offered outside the conference and is not sanctioned by Sage ( Think for a minute – would Sage be inviting competitors to not only exhibit but to recruit their partners and customers…?).
No word on whether CPE might be available (just in case – that’s a joke too – you’re not going to get CPE for meeting with Craig West).
This isn’t the first time that Netsuite have aggressively recruited at Sage events. Last year they were actively meeting partners in area restaurants. The year before they rented a van and roamed the streets of Denver with a sign inviting partners to join their channel.

Sage’s ERP X3 May 26, 2011 Worldwide conference just wrapped. Logging in at exactly an hour it contained a few pieces of information about Sage ERP X 3. There were exactly zero live demonstrations and no question and answers were allowed. What follows after the break are my notes and observations.
