Sage One Renewal Spam

Sage malware

If you receive an invoice from Sage indicating “Your Sage subscription invoice is ready”, please delete it. I just had a customer contact me to inquire about the validity of such an email.

Upon further review the email leads to a download site (not Sage)  which in turn attempts to download a file to your desktop. Other sites have reported similar malware attempts by bogus emails purporting to be from Sage. Please never download any files which you were not expecting and especially no files where the link redirects to a site that is not one you visit and know to be safe.

Sage One UK Available in Google Apps Marketplace

Sage announces the availability of Sage One UK in the Google Apps Marketplace where customers can subscribe (after a 30 day trial) from 5 GBP per month.

During Sage Summit 2012 Sage North America mentioned that they’d be offering retail sales of their Sage One product through unspecified retail outlets in America. It’s unknown whether the North American version of Sage One will also be offered through the Marketplace as well.

In their announcement Sage indicated that they were one of the first accounting applications in the Google Apps Marketplace – although there are presently 70 other applications – including Wave and Xero – sharing the same Accounting & Finance category.

There are no details on how – if at all – the Sage One UK service will integrate to Google Apps thought the company indicates they are talking with Google about possible integrations.

Some services listed in the Google Marketplace have slim integration other than the ability to add themselves to a Google Apps user’s menu for easier launching of the service (Example: Freshbooks) however a listing in the Google Apps Marketplace seems like a great way for Sage to reach out to startup businesses..
